It is very crucial to ensure when wiring your MDX via the phoenix style connectors (Euroblock) that you cut within ¼-½", and should not be frayed or exposed, to prevent your wire connections from touching. Doing so can cause an electrical short which can lead to damaging the unit and/or connected speakers. The best way to connect these would be to use wire ferrules to remove the possibility of frayed or exposed cables from touching and causing a short.
